hi, i'm amy...nice to meet you

My Story

When I was young, I wanted to be a travel agent. When I was a little bit older, I wanted to be a travel writer. And when I was just a little bit older, fresh out of university with an honours degree in tourism planning and development, I wanted to be a tourism consultant. But life has a funny way of giving you opportunities to make decisions that will ultimately change your life’s path.

I didn’t become a tourism consultant. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I made many decisions that led me in a different direction. I developed a rewarding 20-year career as an administrative professional, supporting senior leadership and C-suite executives where I honed my skills in writing, editing, and strategic thinking, among other important administrative skills. I became a trusted collaborator to many who still rely on me today.

In 2019, I enrolled in Simon Fraser University’s Editing Certificate Program and opened Eye for Editing to begin focusing on the work I enjoy most: helping others communicate their ideas, well. Since then, I achieved my Editing Certificate in 2021 and have broadened my service offerings for a holistic approach in creating and maintaining concise content for independent operators, and tourism, trades, health and wellness, not-for-profit, and charitable organizations. By thinking strategically about business goals, resources, audience needs and expectations, and purpose of the message, I guide businesses on how they shape, create, and maintain their communications.

When your internal capacities are limited, your customers or employees are challenging you about your messaging, or you want that second set of eyes to go through your draft copy, you can count on me.

I’m your strategic partner.

No matter what role you hold in business, my goal is to support you by transforming your creative chaos into strategic communications and content and helping you build efficient communication systems, so that you can free up your time, space, and energy to stay focused on what you do best: growing your business and leading your team.

If you’re interested in collaborating on your next project or content already in use, let's connect!
